How to know if this is a good fit for you

You’re interested in creating simple photo setups that are authentic and not heavily styled.

You are genuinely motivated to create some of your own photos and videos.

You understand that you need to actually do the work to complete this course. By doing the steps along the way, you will end up with usable photo content at the end.

You have realistic goals about what you can achieve on your own. I don’t capture content that could be on the cover of a magazine every time I take a photo. But I can help you capture clean, clear, professional content that gets your point across.

You understand you’re in this for the long game — your photos will improve with practice. You’ll always need photos for your business so let’s keep learning together :)

frequently asked questions

  • This course is for both! I teach the video lessons on an iPhone, but all of the lessons are applicable to Android too. This is more about skills than settings.

  • Any model can be used, but the newer model phones really do make a difference in quality when you’re trying to capture your own business content.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the very newest model! I’d say the last three models of whatever is currently out would be a great benchmark. When you start going back 5+ years, the quality just isn’t there in these phone cameras.

  • Not much time at all! I’ve distilled the most important information down for you into a video series that will take you less than a day to complete, if you watch it all at once and action each step as you go.

As a small business owner myself, I know how incredibly busy your days can be. That's actually why I designed this as a ‘tiny course' — keeping my videos and teaching resources as short and info-packed as possible, so you get the knowledge you need fast, without the overwhelm or searching through piles of online articles.

  • There’s no time limit — you have lifetime access and can learn at your own pace. Just remember though, that if you to access your course bonus of personalised feedback from me, you must submit your top three photos within 30 days of purchasing the course.

  • Please send me a message and let me know so I can help. If you’re having trouble understanding you’ll be sure someone else is feeling the same way. Your input helps me improve the course and make it better for future participants.

  • This course primarily focuses on photography — but almost all of the principles and settings recommendations will help you shoot excellent video on your phone, too.

  • I’ve been a professional full-time photographer for around 20 years, after having completed a Bachelor in Photography. And I’ve been using a camera since early high school.

For the past decade-plus, I’ve been teaching photography students how to use their cameras and phone cameras via in-person workshops based in Townsville, Sydney and the Far South Coast. This course is the distillation of all that knowledge and experience, which you can access wherever you are in the world.

your teacher: Honey atkinson

I first picked up a camera at age 15 and haven’t stopped shooting since. Photography hones me into what is beautiful about life — a gift that has kept me inspired and working as a full-time photographer for 20+ years.

For the past decade, I’ve run in-person workshops helping small business owners learn to take their own photos. I’ve seen first-hand how great DIY photos can help businesses grow and thrive.

I know these skills can help you, too.
